My buddy who I hunt with on the apache res for Elk every year sent me this pic today. This bear was hit by a car on the west side of the res. Game and fish took it to the Hon Dah casino first to see if they wanted it for a mount for the casino. I guess Hon Dah is going to be getting it full sized from Chris Williams up there to display

This is the only pic he sent me and I will ask him if he can send me some more

I noticed in the first pic he has a tag on his left front paw? I wonder why game and fish would put a tag on it if it was hit by a car???

to legally transport it. It also has to have a tag to go to the taxidermist since it was taken to chris in pinetop

My guess is the WMAT game fish printed it that day with who evers name it was that was going to transport it. I know when we killed bears and additional elk on the trophy hunt we just went to the game and fish department there paid the fee and they printed us a tag.

I'm going to sit a bait site this year with my bow . I don't feel right shooting a bear over bait with a rifle but a bow is a different story

no tree stand larry.just be realy still behind that tree :D. how much are they getten you for the rez bear tag?and do you have to buy there guide also?and do you have a web site for the rez hunts?

thanks for the site larry.how much does the average bear guide cost? 2k? im thinking i could drop 2-3k for a nice bear

I don't know. We pay 500 bucks to shoot a bear since we buy the trophy Elk tag there every year. Its a part of the package and we just use the same guide we use while Elk Hunting.

Dude your best bet would be to hunt the san carlos side of the black river. The tags are like 900 for the fall and you dont need a guide at all. For some reason the white mountain side does shit different.
