You don't have to go all the way to Florence just hit up some of the farm fields around AZ Farms rd, after getting permision first of course.;)
red rock has always been good

How crowded does the red rock area get? Is it open land or do I need to get landowners permission? Thanks
it can get crowded but always enough areas to shoot. and its state land just north of the cattle ranch. good luck

There are some good stocktanks east of Florence that we will be hitting. Never many people but lots of birds.

Scouted Maricopa  and found a good amount of birds around Farrell Rd among the open cotton fields. Lots of new homes  , but still are alot of farm fields with birds :p. Farrell Rd turns north about a mile from downtown Maricopa. Stay on Farrel Rd and you come up to a number of cotton fields. Choose your spot and let them Have It

Hit the jackpot in Maricopa :p . Took a friend and his 12 yr old son. All limited out by 7 am. :D There was 6 of us out there in them there fields and the birds were quite Cooperative. Flights lasted way beyond 7 am. Quite a few Eurasian, black collar birds too., Bottom line, we all got our limits, and I really enjoy having my son, grandson and other young ones, get there limits. Life Doesn't get better than this ;)
That sounds like a good time.
I haven't dove hunted in years.
Did you guys see alot of white wings?

Congratulations on a great hunt. Nothing better than time in the field with family and friends.

Delw, we did bag a few White Wings, but not as many as previous yrs . You need to get out there ;) , nothing like being out there at the crack of dawn and seeing the flights forming in the Horizon, yelling out 12 ah clock , when they really are at 3 ah clock  . Also, where else, but a firing range, can you shot up a storm and laugh about those comma cossie birds that almost hit you, but you miss, and think afterwards, "Should have swung the rifle butt" at it :p and probably would have done better . Thanks for the comments badBass :), and you're right, hunting with family and friends, nothing better . FYI guys, also did and do alot of fishing also, A.K. Setdhook, Lastly, son and I were out there again this morning, bagged our limits by 7 am . May give the birds a break tomorrow, but will return later during the week. Take care guys.

Howdy, my son(22) and I are looking for some dove hunters to join for the '08-'09 season. Mostly interested in NW or NE Maricopa Co., Wickenburg, or Buckeye areas.
We've done a few hunts on our own, but really miss the hunts with several fun folks on opening day.
If there is room somewhere for a couple more, please let us know.
Thanks, Robert and Chad

I second Red Rock. Great place and limit out everytime. I just can't justify driving 2 hours to get down there. Does anybody know where I can hunt near the NorthWest Valley?

Heading out to Maricopa this morning to get them birds (dove). Lots of growth out there , but we scouted out some areas where the bird are still flying. We should do good today, either way, only thing that equals a good hunt is a good day on the lake :>. Good luck to all
