Firstly, I'd like to thank both JLG and AZSnipe for their guidance and friendship. This wouldn't have happened without either of them! JLG recommended the unit and invited me along for a great scouting trip along with Tod (sorry bro, I can't remember your handle). Unfortunately, Tod couldn't go with us to the second spot since he had a sick family at home and it's quite unfortunate for him since he had an archery tag and JLG spotted a TON of pigs in our second scouting area! This was a month for the rifle hunt.
Well, the pigs were nowhere to be seen and I looked all over JLG's secret honeyhole! That was a serious workout scaling cliffs and climbing up and down saddles, hills and valleys. I declined to work overtime last Wednesday in order to get a good night's sleep for a good pre-hunt scout on Thursday. That OT would have been Holiday pay... aproximately... [Read More]

Hey everybody,
Just got back from an awesome weekend hunting unit 37b. I feel so lucky to have a great group of friends that I hunt with every year. It wouldn't be the same without our group of guys.
Got to our camp around 2:30pm and set everything up. Then it was off for some afternoon scouting and to check the gamecam. First we stopped at the gamecam. I had found a culvert a week earlier with lots of sign around it. So I was eager to see if it had any pics...needless to say I wasn't disappointed.

Here is one that I shot opening day. This was my first Elk. It was hard to pull the trigger on opening day after waiting 6 years to get a tag.
